3:16 meets Lego Star Wars

NeilFord's picture

In preparation for Continuum, I went and acquired some Lego Star Wars minifigs to use for the player characters.

Here they are set up on the A3 range map that I got printed and laminated.

I do have some Halo style armour and more detailed weapons on their way from the US, but if they don't arrive in time, these will do.

Now to just figure out what to use for aliens...

Ha! That's great. I should

Ha! That's great. I should drag out some of my old Lego men fr just that purpose. Or use some of the Mechaton mechs that I built and let them represent guys in huge powered armour.

The A4 version of the range map works really well with the Lego figures as well. Lets them all fit into the same space without too much crowding.

Sorry Neil, my mistake there, Mean't to type A3 in my last comment but my fingers automatically typed A4.

Cheers

OK, you win! I was just going to use the 25mm GZG colonial forces I used for Savage 2300 but they look so much better! I like the laminated A3 map too!

Thinking of skulking off and letting you run this instead of both of us! ;-)

No worries. If I'd waited until the morning to read your comment rather than doing so in bed on my poser phone, I might have figured out you meant A3 :)

Dom, you're not getting off

Dom, you're not getting off that lightly.

If everything arrives in time I should have enough bits to lend you a set of figures.

For Aliens you can use

David Donachie's picture

For Aliens you can use anything ... I used to have a pile of bizarre plastic monsters that I'd picked up at carboot sales for RPGs, giant squid, oversized insects, zombies, sticky aliens, you can get almost unlimited weird creatures in a range of sizes from any carboot for pennies

Lego makes everything taste

Andrew Kenrick's picture

Lego makes everything taste better - this game would be right up Rich "Lego" Stokes' street :-D

Personally I'm going to use a few of my lovely Space Machines, coupled with a pile of blip counters to represent contacts!

It was Rich 'Lego' Stokes

It was Rich 'Lego' Stokes that gave me the idea in the first place :)

He's due to run a game of 3:16 at the Portsmouth Role Players on August 10.

More Lego bits were waiting

More Lego bits were waiting for me when I got home:

Bodies, legs, heads, bases.... and GUNS!!

Red Trooper wields a newly acquired H&K MP5. If he wasn't wearing a helmet, you would see him grinning :)

Is it possible to have Lego-envy. Oh yes!

I am so running a Star Wars-themed Ewok massacre at Dragonmeet.

Awesome!

Awesome! If I didn't know I would be spending the day running around making sure things run smoothly, I would so up for playing that.

Mucho Inspiration

cygnus46's picture

We're about to kick off a 3:16 campaign ourselves and I was inspired by your awesome Lego-ness, so I went brick-style too, trying to capture that MandelBrite armor look was tricky! Thanks!

Very nicely done -
