Guys,
Anyone interested in putting together an IGT for Gaelcon this year? I've not heard anything, so I dunno if someone else has looked into this.
Based on our struggle for players last year, and our experience at Conpulsion, I'd suggest we run three games a day, but keep reserve GMs handy in case more folk turn up. As always, my goal is to game as much as possible, as often as possible. Socialising is for wussies.
(And as I'm in Dublin, I can put people up).

In all honesty: after last

In all honesty: after last year, I don't see myself ever going back to Gaelcon. It was without doubt the worst con I've ever been to, and also the most expensive.
Well I plan on being there

Well I plan on being there and would be available to demo things for people in lieu of me actually having my game finished.

Gaelcon gone down hill?

Oh dear :(
Gaelcon used to be (back in the mid 90s) a beacon on the convention circuit. It was one of the few cons that WotC UK staff volunteered to go to. Shame to hear that it may no longer live up to it's former glory.
Personally, that end of the year is looking pretty full with UK cons, so making it to Gaelcon would be very unlikely for me these days.

Gaelcon lacked a lot last

Gaelcon lacked a lot last year - the stalls were few and poor, I thought the auction was dire (didn't enjoy the MC in the slightest), and there weren't enough games. Far too many people just there to socialise. Though I heard good things about the LARPs.
Dublin is expensive. But I'm used to it now. €5 a pint. Eeeh.
BUT, I'll be there. Even if none of the CE regulars turn up, I've managed to make some new gamers here in Dublin, who are all curious about cons. I'll likely be running Hot War, might try Duty and Honor, and am hoping to try a few boardgames like El Grande and Mechaton.

Lack of organisation

There was a shocking lack of organisation at last year's con. Basically, I see it as the "old guard" moving on and the newbies fucking it up royally in an attempt not to listen to anyone who ran the con before.
I might end up missing GaelCon this year (!) and I'm going to miss WarpCon in January too (!). My first year of not going to an Irish con since 2003!
Times... they are a changin'.
As long as Joe and Adam are there though I think there will be some great going on, though.
Yes, my plan for this week

Yes, my plan for this week (just back from holidays!) was to contact people about this. I've been in touch with Gaelcon and we should have the same nice space by the bar again, so all we have to do is fill the tables with games.
Getting players in the afternoons at Gaelcon has proved quite easy, with mornings being practically impossible. I'm tempted to try and run two tables of stuff in the afternoon, and leave the mornings quiet for playtests or just going off and joining in LARPs.
Who's going to be there, and what would you be interesting in running?
Adam.
Adam, you kick ass. I

Adam, you kick ass. I understand you're actually *from* Dublin, but if you need crash space apart from your inevitable extended, 100-member family, you're welcome. :)
Playtests in the morning? That's genius, actually. Brains are fresh, and the coffee hasn't lulled critical tongues yet.
I've not give any thought to what I might run. Some stuff came out of Game Chef this year I might try.
Okay, where I'm at with

Okay, where I'm at with this, I was commitments to run, Spirit of the Century, Burning Empires, The Shab-Al-Hiri Roach and Maid RPG.
For myself, I'm thinking In A Wicked Age, maybe an old favourite like InSpectres, Mountain Witch if I can know it well enough to run it.
Joe? Simon? Anyone else? What would you like to run?
(Joe, thanks for the offer - probably staying with family but may get back to you.)
I'll be making a purchase at

I'll be making a purchase at Leisure Games in the next few weeks for some new stuff to try. I playtested Grey Ranks last year, so would like to try running that. 3:16's also a possibility. But I'm not sure what else is new that I fancy.
