Progress Update (2008 Nov)

I thought I'd post a progress update of where I am with some projects...

I'm working on two Fantasy RPGs at the moment...

Cantare, a game that grew out of running Cold City, actually, but has lots of little mechanical complexities in it. It tries to do LOTR style of epic adventure, centred on character motivations, ties to other PCs and NPCs. Anyway, that is on the back burner but I'm mulling it over in my mind.

Carnage Amongst The Tribes, is a fantasy version of 3:16 that has its own take on it. Basically you create a tribe that is a cult to a god, and go about slaying other tribes of (demi)humans and beasts. The highest rank in the cult is to ascend to being a god yourself. I hope to be playtesting this by the end of the year.

Supers...

Good Morning Britain, Costumed Heroes in Thatcher's Britain (1979-1990), has its rules mostly assembled. I just (just!) need to put in some flavour things and type up the things for testing. Then it too can go into playtesting by year end.

Collaborations...

Number Reducers, is a game I'm working on with Epidiah Ravachol. It's pretty rad and very mathematical. It's what I might call an Old School game.

Other Stuff...

I hope to do a collaboration with an artist too. Christmas might give me time to noodle on that. I hope.

zuzannah and Up Go The Heads are still around but haven't had anything done to them, or even been thought about, in a while. I reckon they'll bob to the surface next year.

3:16 continues to be at the forefront of my mind as I play and promote the game. I'm still enjoying it even if the internet can be a pain in the rear at times!

Best Friends is now out of stock at IPR. I need to do something on that.

Busy man!

I was intrigued by Cantare and its cracking cover picture, so do keep us posted.

And needless to say I will be more than happy to playtest the life out of Good Morning Britain!

'Good Morning Britain' is just the best title, and I envy it.

From what you were telling me about it at Indiecon, I'm very much looking forward to Cantare. I think we need another fantasy game.

Cantare, Carnage amongst the Tribes (time to pick up some Lego Pirates natives) and Good Morning Britain all sound cool.

If you'd like the Portsmouth group to do some playtesting, just let me know.
