[Mechaton] Mechatonic!

Malcolm Craig's picture

Simon Carryer and myself have recently started a joint blog dedicated to Mechaton, playing the game, building things from Lego and so forth.

The blog will relate our experiences trying out the Mechaton campaign rules, our builds of different kinds of mech, scenery, vehicles and other items, thoughts on Mechaton changes and rules additions as well as cool Lego stuff from a whole variety of places.

Hopefully it will prove to be a useful resource for those interested in the game. You can check it out right here. There isn't much AP content there at the moment, but we do promise more as the weeks roll by. There will be comment on play, colour from our games and anything else we can think of.

Cheers

That's great to see Malc -

That's great to see Malc - I'll be sure to check back regularly. Loving the mecha designs. Can I request some battle reports for the future!

You know what would be useful

Some blueprints for your mechs, and maybe some build technique advice. You seen to have a knack with the micro-engineering needed for Mechaton.

Yes and yes

Andy: Yes indeed, we'll be doing reports on the battles of the campaign as we progress. Hopefully we'll get some in-game colour incoporated into those reports in the form of propaganda releases, posters etc.

Matt: That's exactly the kind of thing I'd like to do. The first one will be a step-by-step build guide for the basic 'X-Frame' MgN-302 mech that's shown on the site along with a parts list for easy Bricklink ordering.

Thanks for the interest and I hope we can encourage you to keep coming back to the blog as time goes on!

I spent a good few minutes last night trying to work out that x-frame and how it all fitted together.

Crosslinking from Flickr should provide you with a useful traffic stream.

Did you eventually work it

Malcolm Craig's picture

Did you eventually work it out? I'll try to take some photos this evening and post up a 'how to' on the blog. The X-Frame pleases me a lot, as it's the first good mech design I've done from scratch.

The Flickr linking thing is good advice, will take note of that.
