Using D&H for non-military matters..?

In this thread - http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=433297 - the OP wanted a game which dealt with the Regency period as a whole rather than just the military side. My original thoughts were simply that what was needed was a good setting book and his favourite system.

However, I was watching Amazing Grace yesterday and it struck me that the Mission/Challenge structure of D&H would work perfectly for a political game. The Missions come from your party or your family and the personal missions come from you, your desires or the causes which you champion. The system and structure are there, it would just need some work around it.

Whether anyone would want to play that sort of game, is another matter altogether.

Well, the structure, with a bit of tweaking, would seem to work for any format that has an object which gets intertwined with the wider character conflicts.

This models quite a few TV shows. Just look at Alias. In fact an espionage version of the D&H system would work really, really, well.
