Can you give me a little more of an insight about the sort of convention this is, Darren? Is it a 'sales' orientated convention or a 'play' orientated con? What numbers usually attend? What sort of games get played?

An independent assessment

Neil, it's very much play-oriented, with just a couple of sales stalls. A little bit like Furnace, but I think bigger and less cosy.
It springs from Call of Cthulhu and Runequest, the old Chaosium games and their more recent versions. They've had Sandy Petersen and Gref Stafford as guests the two times I've been, and you get a lot of Glorantha hard cases.
A lot of the programme is CoC/RQ/HQA, but a wide range of games can and do get played, and you can get through the con without having much truck with the above if you really want to.

Continuum is a residential
Submitted by Darran on Sun, 15/11/2009 - 00:48.
Continuum is a residential con over a weekend in the summer for about 250 attendees.
There is a strong emphasis on games and play but there are also seminars held as well as the big 30 to 50 player freeform games that take place over the weekend.
We also have a trade hall.
The greasy breakfasts are infamous and the bar is busy!

Expanding on the games

I've run Traveller there, Hawkmoon, Conspiracy of Shadows and played in several Wordplay playtests, Savage Worlds and others beyond pure CoC/RQ/HQ. Played 3:16 as well last time thanks to Neil Ford. Great con, as Tim describes, like Furnace but less cosy.
We also had the one and only StormQuest game (HQ Stormbringer) before the sale of the rights to Mongoose squashed that and left me with 28,000 words of dead space.
