InDesign: PDF formating

Dom Mooney's picture

Hi all,

Is there an easy way in InDesign (I'm using CS4) to generate a PDF with an index of all the headers? I'm just working on tweaking the PDF of Wordplay. According to the help file in InDesign, there should be a template option to do this, but it doesn't appear to have installed...

I think that this is the preset I need to be using (the one that's missing)!

[The Agency] Free PDF and musing on the Nopress Anthology

Matt's picture

A while ago we sold the last of the Nopress Anthology and Luke is winding down the project. It's been 4 years, so that's a good span and it sold about 150 print copies all told. It made me a small amount of cash.

[Best Friends] Almost out of stock; Wishlist?

Gregor Hutton's picture

Hey Everybody,

I've updated the PDF of Best Friends on OBS (RPGnow/DriveThruRPG) with a new one, in keeping with the last printing of the book. Hardly anyone buys the PDF of it anyway, but those that did buy it deserve the latest version (there were an unexpected flurry because of the recent Sneak Like A Ninja promotion). So if you picked it then go along and redownload the file to get latest version.

How to get PDF with full page images

David Donachie's picture

Okay simple question here (to which the answer is likely ... buy distiller silly). I have a word document with full page images (edge to edge), but I can't print them to PDF without getting the margins applied by my printer. How do I get round that? I could make the document on a larger custom paper size, but then the PDF will just end up larger with margins somewhere else.

Is this just the limitation of not using the PDF printer driver?

Optimising Your PDFs

Ashok Desai's picture

After seeing how big some of my previous PDFs have clocked in at, I've been experimenting with ways of cutting down file sizes for digital transfer and I thought a quick thread on optimising PDFs was in order. I appologise if I'm repeating anything that's gone before! Here are my tips for making useful PDF files anyway, and if anyone has their own tips feel free to chip in!

[Covenant]Now Available as PDF

Matt's picture

Well, it only took me two years...

Covenant is now available as a PDF download at RPGNOW.

Interesting things of note. They came to me. Emailing me out of the blue and asking if I wanted to be on the site. So, somebody is paying attention out there, which is good to know.
