Guild of Blades POD

David Donachie's picture

As many of you will be aware the Guild of Blades recently opened a combined retail store / POD shop, stocking small runs of games on their shelves and printing others on demand from a catalogue.

As part of this opening they offered the chance for game designers to join their retail program, which means you give them a PDF of your game, they print a small run at their expense (so no cost to you) and then sell the games direct, with a cut going to you if they sell. I decided to sign up for this on the condition that I got one of the copies they printed.

Solipsist review in KotDT 141

David Donachie's picture

Reviews being the popular subject at the moment I'd like to mention the wonderful review of Solipsist in this month's Knights of the Dinner Table (No. 141) by our very own Ash. I've not mentioned it up till now because although I knew it was coming I hadn't actually read it yet, but I got my copy today and I love it.

It's a glowing review, but a fair one, even though Ash didn't like Freida's picture of the Flying Snails (which is mine and Gregor's favorite piece I think :), though Ash, you should have told me you needed cover art and we'd have gotten you a much higher res copy :)

[Solipsist] Mailing List

David Donachie's picture

Just to let people know, if they are interested, that I have opened a Solipsist Mailing list on Yahoo, as a more effective means of getting in touch with people who've bought the game, or have rules questions.

I should also post links to the other APs in this thread too.

[Solipsist] 2008 Q1 and Q2 sales figures

David Donachie's picture

Gregor and I met last night to collate the 2008 sales figures for Solipsist now that Q2 is actually over (this was the first full quarter) and I am exceptionally pleased! In just 4 months we've covered all our printing and shipping costs for the entire run (including the test prints) and I'm only 1 sale short of covering the art costs as well! I wasn't expecting to reach this point till the end of the year, so needless to say I am over the moon! Next time someone buys something we are making genuine profit! :)

Anyway, here is the sales breakdown in detail

[Solipsist] Feedback on the 15 minute Demo pack

David Donachie's picture

As many of you know the Solipsist 15 minute demo pack got it's first test drive at Games Expo. I wasn't there to see it used (Gregor did the demos) so I am keen to get feedback from anyone who read it, watched it, or most of played it, to see what I can improve for the next version (which we will have on the website as a download).

So, did anyone here play in a Solipsist demo? If so how was it? Did you like it? Hate it? Understand it? If you own Solipsist or have played it elsewhere did the Demo do a good job of communicating an interesting part of Solipsist play?
